I for one can’t quite muster the energy this year to spend hundreds of dollars at chain stores on junk that my friends and family don’t even want. But the holidays don’t have to be full of crap. What about, this year, committing to spend all or even just half of your holiday shopping budget on local goods? Hand-crafted doesn’t have to mean tea cozies and quilts; it can also mean unique, fine, funny and hip jewelry, clothing, furniture and home goods.
